Opened in 2016 MECCA OTR was designed to be a neighborhood spot. A Cincy city oasis for guests to escape the fast pace of life and escape into something different. We wanted to create a diverse, welcoming space – gathering place for all. Since we didn’t have a lot to work with we utilized what we had – a degree in painting and a love of plants. We got to work painting murals, collaging walls and covering every inch of the space with tropical life. We wanted the space to evolve over time as new artists collaborated on installations and the seasons shifted tropical plants and our huge fountain to firepits and warm drinks.
