MECCA OTR opened its doors in Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine in 2016, after years of running a 15,000-square-foot restaurant taught us something: simple wins. We wanted to build something that could weather anything — turns out that instinct paid off when 2020 hit and we were already built for it. Working with what we had — big ideas, some paint, a lot of creativity, and a genuine desire to give the community a place to gather — we created Cincinnati’s first true outdoor city oasis. Wall-to-wall art installations and murals, custom lighting, plants everywhere, and natural touches like a trickling fountain all come together to make Mecca feel like an escape, right in the middle of the city.
