ABOUT + DESIGN

MECCA OTR opened it’s doors in Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine in 2016. After owning and operating a 15,000 sq. ft. restaurant for years, we decided to do something simple that could withstand tough times (enter 2020-luckily we were ready). Working with what we had, which wasn’t a lot – we combined big ideas, painting and design abilities, and the desire to create a welcoming space for the community.

MECCA was the first outdoor, city oasis designed as an escape to nature for city goers. The space features wall to wall art installations and murals, lighting design, tons of plants, and natural details like a trickling fountain to take you away.
